Crafting Holistic Wellness with Morphus

Morphus is a revolutionary product that combines technology and design to foster holistic well-being. Its objective is to help individuals achieve a harmonious balance of mind, body, and spirit by leveraging advanced digital tools and meticulously crafted experiences.

Overcoming Initial Hurdles and Setting Ambitious Goals

The primary hurdles included defining a clear digital product vision, ensuring technological feasibility, and creating a seamless user experience. The primary goal was to build a state-of-the-art lounge chair integrated with an intuitive mobile app that offers personalized wellness journeys through sound, light, and vibrations to provide a complete multi-sensorial experience.

Unified Efforts Across Geographies

Nolte took the helm in developing the Morphus Portal mobile app for both iOS and Android platforms, guiding the project from the initial Proof of Concept (POC) to its final implementation. The core team was team spread across Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico was responsible for every process phase: discovery, product design, product development, and deployment. This included creating a specialized iPad version for a Global premier of the Morphus chain in Milan, Italy. Nolte ensured the mobile app was versatile and accessible across multiple devices.

In Mexico City, the Atra team focused on the physical product design and manufacturing of the Morphus lounge chair. Their goal was to create a chair that offered superior comfort and seamlessly integrated with the mobile app digital experience. The product design had to reflect Morphus’s innovative spirit, combining aesthetic appeal with functional excellence.
Meanwhile, the Evolvent team, based in California, tackled the hardware integration. and Nolte took the lead to ensure the chair’s functionalities were perfectly synchronized with the mobile app. This integration was crucial for delivering the personalized wellness experience that Morphus promised.

Operating from the USA and Mexico City, the Morphus team provided the strategic direction to align the project with its overarching vision and goals. Their insights and guidance were vital in navigating the complex landscape of wellness technology and ensuring that every aspect of the project adhered to their high standards.

Nolte team held weekly sessions with the Evolvent and Morphus teams to facilitate smooth collaboration and keep the project on track. During these meetings, we presented our deliverables, updated timelines, and addressed any dependencies. This consistent communication ensured that all teams were aligned and potential issues were promptly resolved, leading to a seamless and successful project execution.

Technological Stack

To ensure scalability and maintainability, we chose Typescript and React Native for the mobile application and NestJS for the backend. AWS was selected for its scalability and cost efficiency.

Example Mapping Sessions

Our product design team utilized user story mapping, example mapping, and digital product feature analysis to create an MVP backlog, aligning features with the digital product vision and ensuring they met user and market needs, ensuring the mobile app was user-friendly and visually appealing.

From Concept to Reality

To successfully deliver the Morphus project, we followed a comprehensive and structured approach, incorporating thorough research, meticulous planning, and agile product development processes. Here is how we navigated through the different phases of the project:

Discovery Phase

Market Research: We conducted a competitive analysis, UX/UI analysis, and market strategy positioning to understand the landscape and identify opportunities for Morphus.

Customer Profiles: Through data immersion, we developed detailed user personas and journeys, ensuring that the digital product would meet the needs and expectations of its target audience.

Strategic Workshops: Our teams were brought together in strategic workshops to align product design processes, schedules, and communication channels, fostering seamless collaboration from the outset.

Design and Product Development

Concept Creation: Our product development team proposed product design concepts, laying the foundation for the digital product’s visual and functional aspects.

MVP Backlog and Roadmap: Using user story mapping, we prioritize user stories and visualize customer journeys, creating a clear roadmap for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Technical Evaluations: We ensured the scalability and feasibility of the digital product through rigorous technical assessments, selecting technologies and solutions that would support long-term growth and stability.

Polishing and Deployment

User Interface Enhancements: We refined the user interface for mobile app versions (iOS and Android) and iPad, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience across all platforms.

Testing and Polishing: Following the agile Kanban methodology, we integrated testing and polishing into the implementation phase. This iterative approach allowed us to address issues promptly and continuously improve the digital product.

Following this structured approach, we created a robust and user-centric digital product that seamlessly integrates technology and product design, providing a transformative experience for Morphus users.

Testing and First Launch: Showcasing Innovation

After we worked remotely and performed everything asynchronously, it was time to put all our results in place so that the final users could test all the components that bring the Morphus experience to life: the chair, the mobile app, the goggles, etc. So, we organized a comprehensive testing phase and preparation for the first live event.

Live Testing in Mexico City

Morphus conducted the live testing in Mexico City, reuniting team members from different global locations, including Evolvent, Nolte, and Morphus. This session was crucial as it allowed us to see how the various components worked together in a real-world setting. The invaluable user feedback gathered during this live testing session was instrumental in refining the digital product, ensuring that all aspects of the Morphus experience were seamless and impactful.

Milan Design Week Preview

Following the successful testing in Mexico City, our efforts culminated in Morphus first public preview of Morphus during Milan Design Week. Our collaborative work across teams from different regions prepared us for this showcase, which was the primary goal of our project’s first phase.

Starting April 15th, we presented the Morphus chair and mobile app to a global audience for an entire week. Utilizing TestFlight to provide the app on iPads, we ensured attendees had the best possible experience. The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback, marking a significant milestone in the Morphus project.

User Feedback: Positive Reception at Milan

The feedback from attendees in Milan was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success of our efforts. Comments such as “Nice,” “Relaxed,” and “Aware” underscored the immediate impact of the Morphus experience. Many found it to be a “Relaxing good experience,” and “enjoyed” the overall experience.

These comments reflect the profound and varied responses to the Morphus experience, validating our approach and the collaborative efforts of all teams involved.

Charting the Future: Continued Innovation and Growth

The Morphus project has been a resounding success, demonstrating the power of cross-disciplinary collaboration. We plan to expand the app capabilities, integrate more personalized wellness journeys, and explore new markets. Our commitment remains to innovate and enhance the holistic well-being of our users, setting new benchmarks in the wellness industry.
